How to set your working hours and location in Teams

I share here a recent learning.

Problem description

In Microsoft Teams you can set your working location by clicking on your profile picture on the top right.
This is a nice information to share with your colleagues.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could set it per default, following your regular remote schedule (e.g. every Wednesday in the office/ else remote)?

Solution

This is not an obvious one.
To set your Teams Work Location and Working Hours you need to open Outlook in the Web browser.

  1. Login and open web Outlook (I usually go through office.com then click Outlook)
  2. Go to the full calendar view
  3. Click the settings gear
  4. Click Work hours and location

or directly click here: ▶ https://outlook.office.com/calendar/options/calendar/workSchedule

  1. Set the days and hours
  2. Save
  3. Restart Outlook and Teams desktop apps. Fully quit, don't just close.
