Microsoft Teams offers limited functionality for custom camera backgrounds e.g. animated backgrounds are not possible. I present here a solution that allows plenty of video effects. It is based on OBS-studio and its virtual camera feature.
Status-quo
It is not possible in Microsoft Teams to use animated backgrounds like Gif or video file. (You can vote here.)
Each time you want to switch your camera background you need to go to the Background settings.
You can not get rid of some stock default backgrounds keeping on top of the selection. (custom backgrounds are appended at the end of the list which makes you have to scroll down the list to pick up yours.)
Wouldn't it be nice to achieve this? One-click switch of the background? Animated backgrounds? Background overlay to express reactions?
Current Workaround
In fact, you can do all of these by using OBS-studio.

Add NVIDIA Camera as Source/ Video Capture Device
You can add other Media e.g. video file behind the camera.
Teams Meeting
Select OBS Virtual Camera as Camera Device
You can then change your OBS Setup and it will reflect in Teams immediately.
