Send to Kindle

As explained in a previous post I am used to ordering Kindle ebooks on Amazon.com and send them to my Amazon.de Kindle. In the past, I was doing so by forwarding the order email to my Kindle email with the .mobi file attached.
Now Google Mail does not allow me to send bigger Email attachments. So I had to look for another way.

By Email

This was my default way. See documentation https://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/email
It works if your email service allows bigger attachments (which now Gmail doesn't/ attachments will be automatically converted to a link to Google Drive.)

From My Kindle content page

Where is here an upload button? (Amazon, come-on)
Reading through the doc it seems not possible to upload to Amazon and Send it from there to your Kindle.

Calibre

From Calibre you can send the ebook to your Device.
For this you need to connect your Kindle via USB to your PC

This is great to know.
This avoids sending the ebook mobi file over the cloud up and down (it will even convert to mobi format automatically when sending to the device!) and won't take any storage for your email account.

It seems somehow the cover isn't sent properly.
Also the content sent directly via USB won't be archived in your Kindle Documents in the Cloud.
If you want so you can send the content from Calibre to your Kindle Email.
(Go to Preferences->Sharing->Sharing books by Email)
